Join us in commemorating World Hunger Day and making a difference in the lives of families like Arefa's!
Arefa and her family, along with thousands of Rohingya people, live in the Save the Children and other aid agencies’ General Food Assistance program in Cox's Bazar. In our food outlets, we used to distribute rice, pulses, flour, oil, fish, chicken, and vegetables. The impact of our work extended beyond just providing food. Arefa shared how our staff members and volunteers go the extra mile, constantly checking for any issues and ensuring good quality food for everyone. Recent food cut impacted their nutritional intake and lives.
On World Hunger Day, we have to stand together to fight hunger and create a brighter future for vulnerable Rohingya communities, especially children. We need to be aware of the severe consequences of food cuts that will be immediate and long-lasting. The international community should step forward to prevent acute malnutrition levels to increase for Rohingya children, their caregivers, and the refugee community as a whole.
